I used these hooks with 1/8 shock cord. I first just stuck the end in and it did not hold very well. I ended up folding the end and inserting it into the hook and then it was very strong. Tip- there is an arrow on the cover that applies the pressure. It's not real noticeable, so look for it. The arrow points towards the hook and has a slight twist to lock it in place.

1/8" shock cord pulls right out... Once enough tension builds up to take your damn eye out! Regular 550 Paracord will work if you melt a little bead on to the end. Even then though, it looks kinda silly. The tan one is 1/8" shock cord and the red one is 550 Paracord.

Great concept although the barb used to hold the bungee cord doesn't hold when pulling at full stretch of the bungee. I used these with 1/8th inch bungee to make the bungee cords on the inside of my rooftop tent. My tent didn't come with them so I made them. What I found is that these will hold up to maybe 3/4 pull on the bungee, but when you max out the bungee that is when it comes out of these hooks. The barb doesnt grab it enough.I made my bungee lengths a little longer and it works, but I wish it would have held at full pull so I could get full stretch out of my bungee cords to pull in on the tent as I put it away.

I was a little leery of putting these on my kayak, since I wasn't sure they would hold well under high tension.WRONG! I anchored one end and pulled the other to the stretch limit of the shock cord, and they held. I no longer worry about them.As a FYI, I needed a couple of these without the latch, so I cut it off at the base with a pair of side-cutters. Worked like a charm.

works great on 3/16 bungee cord, which is exactly what I wanted, and expected after reading the other reviews. What I received might be too big for 1/8 cord.

Clip is easy to connect to cord end (note little arrow on collar), & initial connection held up against tugging. Putting clip on & taking it off several times to adjust cord length resulted in a very strong connection.

Seems like they work okay... I'm not super impressed with the way the little collar snaps in place but I have not had them come off or break so far

These are amazingly simple to put together and hold things tighter than your wife's leggings... and that's tight.
