My 11yr. old is into both science and baking. This was the perfect gift to combine the two. The pieces to the set are cute but functional. She has not made everything in the lab book yet but she is eager to try more. I love that the steps are easy enough for her to follow and try on her own, with some supervision for oven/stove use. She enjoys that she can experiment on her own and offer to her family, as well as simply be independent-not having to wait for busy mom to help her with everything. This Discovery Mindblown: Food Science Lab was a winner-gift for Christmas this year!

Pretty cool kit. There is lots of ‘additional’ items you will need. Ie: dry yeast, food coloring… so make sure to have those on hand, so the child doesn’t get discouraged

This is a cookbook for kids, not a book of legitimate experiments using food ingredients. The packaging and description makes it seem that there are several experiments, but really there are two, and the rest of the activities are centered around cooking foods.

This was a hit with my 7 year old granddaughter. What a great way to combine cooking and science. She needed a little help from mom but they both had fun with it.

This is gonna be so much fun! Great product!

My 4 year old loves doing these experiments with me! He loves baking, recipes, and mixing ingredients, so this is the perfect set for him.
