Reads more like a diet plan
Our daughter was disappointed in this bookShe’s far away so I haven’t seen it myself but she says it reads like a diet plan and doesn’t contain much helpful information

Very US-centered, not great for a European/Mediterranean taste buds
Read it cover to cover in no time at the very beginning of the pregnancy, looking for the A-HA moments and revelations, that unfortunately I did not encounter.Very American-culture centred, so for Europeans -especially Mediterraneans, most of the contents and advice make no sense at all, as we grow up eating and cooking healthy anyway.Culturally, if you are not used to spreading the American renown peanut butter on everything and anything, fruit (apples for example) included, and similar things being the main theme here, not much to look forward to in this book. For the same reason, most recipes are very awkward and anything but tasty, inviting and appealing, so I found it to be a bit of a waste really. It is like most diets people go around telling you to follow - if there is no satisfaction or fulfilment in the diet/food regime in itself, the plan is doomed to fail and one is destined to be left craving the actual healthy satisfying tastes one is used to.Nothing amazing or revolutionary here for me, and honestly I would have rather saved myself this money..

Awesome book. But…
Awesome book but…. Since it’s so popular, it’s usually always at Value Village for a fraction of the price and in excellent condition.

Overall its pretty decent. But...
Overall its pretty decent. But, if you are not use to eating this healthy or well balanced its could be difficult. I tried some of these recipes and they taste okay, but I am not one who usually eats this balances. Additionally...its expensive to eat some of these recipes, so if you are going to buy some of the ingredients make sure you have other uses for them. And yes the majority of the book is recipes. Almost all other information is present in the regular What to Expect when expecting book.
