The battery drill saves SO much time!and my 3 year old can use it.
She is 3 1/2. She’s too young to be able to follow the steps to putting together the various things in the idea book, but she can make her own things up and it really holds her attention!I am not mechanical but I can follow the steps, so we often work on building it together. I will assemble and have her tighten all the screws with her drill while I hold it. She feels so proud of herself! A great toy for grandparents to play with grandchildren. (Some pieces are small so it might be more difficult for someone with advanced arthritis.) A great set for her to grow into. We have 2 other such sets with bigger pieces but this is the set she always chooses. Highly recommend! I also love the storage box with wheels as it doubles as a “moving van” when my Littles play cars and trucks.

A Good Choice for Young "Engineers"
All plastic, colorful, safe pieces are larger than I expected & perfect for small hands. Pieces don't fit perfectly well together as they would if made of stronger material so creations should be handled gently & not played hard with. But the plastic tools are fun to work with, so taking creations apart & making new ones is where the learning & comes in. The drill is fun to use & safe but should be supervised. As for my "budding engineers:" my 4.5 year old grandson did very well with this, so I bought another set for my 3 yr. old grandson (in another family). He understands the concept & likes handling the pieces, but needs help physically securing items together. I do recommend this.

Fun for Dads Too!
My wife bought these for my daughter for Xmas and when I saw them I was immediately hooked. My 3 year old daughter and I spent about 30 minutes building but when she got bored I kept going. The pieces are big so with the exception of a couple of small nuts we don't have to worry about my 8 month old swallowing the pieces. The cool part about these is they include wrenches, ratchets and a powered drill/driver that can actually be used to assemble them. If you know a kid that is into Legos these are a great gift!

Great STEAM TOY
My 6 year old loved building a Giraffe right after opening it. She loved using the "power toys". This is a perfect addition to our collection of building materials. It is great quality and a great value. I would buy again and recommend to others.I teach 4th grade and I believe that they would love these too. I think as far as ages go I would say 3-10 would be the target age group, but oh course I loved playing with them as well so it also depends on the person and their interests. My two year old "played " with them but was really unable to build anything. She liked showing me what to connect but isn't quite there yet.

Not Bad. Instructions are frustrating. Read below for honest review...
We got this for our five year old for Christmas and overall I think it's decent. I wanted to share the reasons that we don't think it deserves the nearly five start rating that it has on Amazon. If I could give a half rating, I would give it a 3.5. Here is my reasoning. Free play is great. It comes with plenty of tools, so brother can play too. You can build lots of designs with it if you are creative. The not so good. Naturally, our five year old wanted to build one of the coolest models. The dinosaur. I won't get into all the specifics, because another reviewer (see one star reviews) detailed all the issues (barely too short bolts, too long bolts that bump into each other, too wide/non parallel assemblies that don't match the photo, etc). But, be aware that the instructions are overall not good. I deducted a start and a half from five due to that. On the dinosaur model, we had to 'get creative', not so much in a good way, to come up with the end result. That would be fine if I needed to work on my creativity, but we bought this for a clever five year old to be able to build. Second issue with the instructions is that the colors of the pieces don't match. Not a huge deal, but to be honest, my son was confused when we were gathering the parts to build and he said "I can't find a green three holed piece". Sure enough, it's blue. (Bonus frustration: the instructions didn't even call for a three holed piece, but a four holed triangle that was NOT in the photo of the finished dino... again, we figured it out). Anyway, I think we will keep the set, but those are our frustrations with it.
