So, on the positives: 1) I don't think this shoe rack takes up too much space. I liked how it was more upward vs outward and so fit up against my wall at the base of our stairs without obstructing use of the stairs much. 2) I like how the shelf sort of "snaps" together. it feels sturdy once all assembled (unlike some racks I have owned which were wobbly/unstable)However the whole thing gets a major mark against it for how close together the "shoe horn hooks" are(for lack of a better description at the moment)- I really can not see how 12 pair of shoes, mens or womens could fit on here. Perhaps if they were all sandals. Perhaps if the shoes were kids. My husbands shoes (10.5 size) and my athletic shoes barely fit on. Not only is it tight side by side, but tight with the upper row versus bottom row and front versus back row.Honestly I would have bought this (and appreciated it more) if it only housed 8 pair of shoes - maybe you are better off looking for something that has 3 flat racks - like the bottom shelf on this - versus this product which is frustratingly tight and borderline useless.I dont get it! Seriously who do they think they're fooling - Im not going to notice that I can't actually put a shoe on every hook?

Would be nice if the shoe holder rows were a bit further apart. With women's size 8.5 shoes, there is barely room to squeeze shoes off and on the rack. Larger sizes shoes will not work well on this product. Similarly, the bottom shelf would be more useful if there were more space between the bottom shoe rack row and the shelf. Most purchasers are likely using in a closet, so space for the unit is an issue, but if an item is not that useful for the space it is designated for, then it is just not that useful. This would really be a pain to use in such a confined space. I store my shoes in an oversized garage, so a better-designed unit with more space would fit.

I like the design of the rack, but found that I have to struggle to get the shoes over the hooks. If they had just made the rack about an inch and a half wider, the shoes would slip onto it more easily. The shoes are very crowded and so you end up rubbing against the next set of shoes to get them on there. I suppose if you have really small feet, perhaps children's shoes, they would fit on the rack more easily. As it is, my size 10's, especially my running shoes, are hard to get on there and sometimes I end up putting them on the floor anyway.

Was pretty disappointed when my shoes, and especially my husband's shoes, didn't quite fit on the racks. The shoe holders are too close together for wider shoes to fit and so not as many pairs can be placed on the rack. It's just not as handy as I would have liked it to be. The quality seems fine and I like having the shelf on the bottom.

I found this to be a sturdy shoe rack. However, the hooks for the shoes are placed so close together that I cannot use it for my athletic shoes which require more room. It does work fine for other shoes.

It does not occupy a lot of space and can house a lot of shoes. I agree with other reviews that it can't house 12 pairs as it says here because the hooks are too close together. But I don't have a lot of shoes or big shoes anyway, so it has been working out well for me.

I received the 12 Pair Shoe Rack with Shelf on the date expected. I must say, I was disapointed by how many pairs of shoes this rack can actually hold, which is NOT 12. It may have posts for 12 pairs, unless you have Elf size feet, then you will only be able to put 6 pairs on it. Plus, if you put shoes below the top half of the rack, then there is virtually no room for boots on the bottom rack. This item should be advertised as a childs room shoe rack.

This shoe rack is a perfect fit in my walk-in closet ~ much better than the revolving tree I had before!It holds exactly the amount of shoes/slippers I own, so no need to add more here ~ no intention of doing so...easy to move about, easy to see everything I own, even love the shelf for keeping my boots!! It was easy to assemble as well, and sturdy. I love it!A 5* purchase in every way!! :)
