Spectrum Writing: Grade 4 Paperback – December 25, 2006

My son is going into 5th grade, however he was already a little behind in his writing abilities before Summer started. So I went with the 4th grade edition so it wouldn't be too hard and discourage him. He does one worksheet everyday and I have already seen a vast improvement in his writing. It really focuses on the writing process, like rough draft, revise, edit, final draft, etc. I think its a great book, was worth every penny and I will be buying another edition next summer too!

As a homeschooler I have been very set in my curriculum choices, except when it comes to writing. I have used several different programs, but never found a good fit for my son. I really like this writing book and he is doing very well with it. It gives clear to follow lessons and then just the right amount of practice for each skill. It breaks down the writing process into small chunks as well as introduce different types of writing at very easy to understand grade level ways.

Many new word .I understand most of the words .

This we will use with grammer next year. We homeschool so it will be used next school year but I have looked threw it and it looks perfect what I was looking for I woluld like to say I can't wait but I want to enjoy summer first LOL! Very happy with purchase I think she will learn a lot in writing next year!

Spectrum rock it again. I like this book, it has easy to understand (4th grade) tasks for writing practices. Everything is well organized and neat. Answer key on the back (sometimes answer key would say "answers will vary", it would be nice to have at least SOME examples instead but still good enough!).

I opened the book and the first 10 pages where written in. I had to spend 15 minutes erasing. Very frustrating!

I buy lot of work books like this for summer study for my kids. I noticed in the beginning when my kids started school that they forget lot of things that they haven learned during summer because of no study. And ever since I started buying these books for summer vacation, they are more confident when school starts again for the following year. And also during the whole summer vacation, they have nothing much to do except playing games so with this kind of books, it keeps them little busy.

My 8 year old daughter absolutely loves this books and I don't even have to ask her to do some school work on her off days. It's very informative and well written and put together.
