First ever radio install
This is the first radio I have ever installed by myself.Doing this wasn't entirely intuitive. I searched youtube for my make and model and found someone installing this exact radio in my exact truck.Getting the old radio out was simpler than I originally expected. Getting the new radio in was where I ran into issues and compromises.Issue one: The bezel I bought did not seem to fit this unit right. So, I skipped the bezel, and it still looks fine.Issue two: The usb port adapter I bought to replace the cigarette lighter gave me issues, but that has nothing to do with the radio really. It eventually went in fine and works great though.Issue 3: The microphone. I had no idea I had to run a microphone from the radio to anywhere else. I ended up placing it in the space where the bezel would have been. It works fine, so what do I care? I'm told that people usually run that through to the ceiling above the driver. I did not do this because I am lazy and unimaginative.Now...The radio itself. I freaking love this radio. I was replacing a 2004 standard radio (pretty much just a CD and radio player) with this. It's like advanced alien technology comparatively. To setup my android phone, I just plugged it into the USB and it was good to go.Google maps popped right up with my recent destinations, and my Amazon music loaded up in the corner and started playing. My Alexa Auto works great with it. I had access to my messages and Pulse and Hiya dialer. All my contacts were loaded. I could connect to my teams meetings. Check my calendar. I added my Plex to it, and also Spotify.According to manual, I can load mp3, flac and wma files via USB. I can also do mkv, AVI and wmv. I might need to put some travel movies and shows on USB for the long roadtrips. I haven't tested this yet.Obviously google maps and Amazon music were the big draws for me, but Waze Maps and a bunch of streaming apps also work on this. Even a police scanner app. This is a game changing upgrade from my stock antique radio from the last century, and now I can throw out my bluetooth FM Transmitter.Recommend bigly.

Perfect
Great radio, perfect for my car. Installed in a 2012 Chevy Malibu. (Does require the wiring harness with an aftermarket chime adapter/box). The touch scream is wonderful. Clean clear display screen. The back up camera option works perfect. You will need a phone charging cord to plus into the back of the radio to use the Apple or android play. It does take a second to initially start up & there’s a terms & conditions message that you have to agree to every time you start your car. Cow the price I 110% recommend.

Great radio
Used this to update the 07 F150 for phone use and it works great! One thing to note is if you want to use the Bluetooth for phone you HAVE to connect the remote mic! I didn’t realize this when I set it up. It’s ok easy fix once you know that fact.

Cheap and freezes
I have a 2004 surburban. It had a planet audio touchscreen system when I bought. It lasted about 1 year before it stopped working.Purchased a new planet audio since I liked some of the features but I was concerned due to the poor performance of the previous one.I had the new one installed by a local stereo company about 2 months after I bought it.So it’s been in my truck for about 10 months. It sucks. The entire radio and all its functions freeze constantly. The touchscreen works but you have to move your finger around to find the right spot that is not always on the icon.It shuts off and sometimes it won’t start up.What a waste of money and time.Planet audio is not the quality it thinks it is.

Just OK
A decent head unit but I randomly get disconnected from my CarPlay with my phone throwing an alert reading “liquid has been detected in your lightning port”. Also cannot change button color as shown in the pictures. Touch screen is ok always looks a little washed out even with minimum gamma settings. Somewhat laggy with touch input and swc while using a metra swc module.(Using iPhone 12 with latest version of iOS)Edit: found lighting port issue was specifically with the cable I was using. Swapped out with a new cable and have not had the issue since.

Nice (Cheap) Radio
I installed this in my 01 corvette, no issues or complaints. Good sound quality, very responsive screen. Apple CarPlay works great via USB. I’ve bought a boss radio that looked just like this one for $300, and this is the same exact radio for $100 less.

Its OK
It works well and I haven't had too much trouble with it. A few times when I jumped my truck or disconnected/reconnected the battery it would give me fits and not connect back to my phone or even turn on at times. One thing that I wish it had was a volume knob instead of buttons. It would make turning volume up and down 100x easier. The installation was a bit rough. I bought a separate frame and it fits, but barely. If you're looking for something amazing this isn't quite it but it's better than a regular old radio and dvd slot.

Exact match from my previous unit
Had this same unit in my Hummer H-2. A roof leak in my Hummer caused it to get wet and malfunction. Bought this one so it was simple to disconnect one and install this one. Great value for the money.
