Receiving encouragement from Rodin, Francois Pompon produced some animal statue sculptures such as the Polar Bear shown at the 1922 Salon d'Automne. This Polar Bear in Stride Statue (l'Ours Blanc) is one of Pompon's most recognized works as a fixture in the entrance area at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Statue Measures 8 in. x 4.5 in. x 3 in.
