Born in Galway in 1981, she grew up in Co. Clare and now lives in Cork. Among her awards are the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, a Seamus Heaney Fellowship, the Ireland Chair of Poetry bursary, the Michael Hartnett Award and, most recently, the Ostana Prize (Italy). Dedalus Press published her first English-language collection, Clasp, in 2015. Lies draws on poems from her three Irish-language collections to date, Résheoid (2011) and Dúlasair (2012) and Oighear (2017), all published by Coiscéim.
