I used this red-fescue to seed a steep area of my yard. Seeded in the fall and it came up nicely before the Vermont winter. The next spring, when the snow melted, the entire area was still GREEN. :-)I also saved some seed over the winter and seeded some bare spots around the yard. It too has germumated and started to grow.NOTE: Red Fescue is slow to germinate.... it takes AT LEAST 2 weeks. It is also slow to grow. (other grasses will be 2x taller in several weeks)I like Red Fescue because it is low maintaince and shade tolerant. After it is established, it can 'heal' bald spots in my lawn. (for example, if I dig out a tree stump)Red Fescue does need a SHARP, vacuuming, mower blade else it may not be cut by the mower. It is so fine that it will just lie down instead of getting mowed.Red Fescue looks just fine if not mowed too. This is my plan for the steep area I planted last fall.... just let it do its thing and help hold the soil inplace.

My friend came over and asked specifically where I got my grass and how it was planted. They said it looked like it was out of a magazine. Very pleased. I used this as a no-mow grass on a hill that's too steep to mow and was just dirt. Beautiful waves of grass measuring up to 1 foot long. I have noticed it does not do well when trampled on by my toddler but I have this in a part of the yard that isn't intended to be walked on much.

Bought a bag in the fall of 2020 and again in late march for the planting seasons both bags utterly failed just seed sitting in the soil completely dead. returns did not even bother how do you return nothing.went back to OrOlam brand here on amazon that grew well last time and is doing well this time too.

This grass variety germinates a bit more slowly than some others, but it is a great grass. Mine has all sprouted up just fine. The seed is also very pure - there isn't a lot of sticks and debris with it. Thanks!

I used this product to fill in after tearing down part of a deck. It was bare dirt until I sowed the fescue seed,very easy to grow, nice and thick. Definitely a good product.

Started to spout in just 5 days. Then it took off. 10 days after seeding grass was 2 inches tall. I over-seeded some fescue that was shaded under a tree & got next to no sun. It’s been just over 2 weeks & the grass is 3 inches tall or more. Couldn’t be happier with this product so far. We’ll see if it continues to grow in this shaded area.

It grows as expected within one and half week after some preparation.I removed the old sod and till the soil. Added 1/2" of Lawn Soil and fertilizer. Spread seeds and rake. Added straws on top to protect the seed from birds and erosion. I should put more seeds in some area but was a bit conservative.
