GLOBAL AIR NPA1-08C 8000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Medium, White

Perhaps we just got unlucky, I do not know, but this unit's AC function did not work at all. Oh, it turned on. Made a few beeps. Flashed pretty colors and blew room-temperature air... but that's it. We even let it run for a few hours to no avail. With the AC function on at the coolest setting (62°F), the room actually went from 80°F to 84°F in just three hours. It actually got hotter and not a whisp of cool air came out of this thing.Rewinding to opening the box - I will admit the box was very beat-up when it arrived via UPS, although there were no punctures or holes.What I found odd was that there was a greasy substance smeared about on the unit once I pulled it out of the box. The substance had even leaked out towards the bottom of the box and left a sizable stain comparable to the grease stains french fries leave in a paper bag. Some of this substance got on my fingers and clothing (what was this gunk??). Upon removing the plastic wrapping, I also noticed skidding and scraping marks on what was supposed to be a clean, new white surface.Installation was painful when it should have been simple. The exhaust nozzle did not fit properly onto the hose, no matter how hard we tried. We ended up taping the exhaust nozzle to the hose so the two would stay together. We also had to tape the window-kit panels together because the holes in the panels did not fit the size of the screws provided. Also, the hose is not made very well and seems as if it is not very durable. The hose lining seems thin.So our unit doesn't function as advertised. We will have to return this and I hope there won't be any problems with the return. Very disappointed.

I got this unit for my college apartment. It was worth the investment. I can say I am cool now and can sleep! However, the only draw back is the fact that you have to have the back plugged into a window which makes things challenging if you have higher windows ( like I do on the third floor). However, I love it. The low humming noise it makes works great to block out loud neighbors but not keep me up. My room gets cool in under 5 minutes and stays cool. I could cool the whole unit if I wanted. It is also helpful that it is energy efficient. It is not expensive to run.

Sufficient to cool my kids bedrooms upstairs. This unit is a little louder than a window unit but I don't want to risk ruining my newly installed windows nor do I want an air conditioner falling out the window. I drain the water once a week to ensure proper cooling.

Bought it, worked great for 2 weeks. Sat for 3 months. Fired it back up and in about 30 minutes, one of the copper tube on the back ruptured and blasted out hire pressure gases causing a deafening screech throughout the house.

This product has been the worse. It was plugged in and turned on. We found it did not cool so requested a refund from Global Air. I am still trying to get the return label and to have the funds added back to my Credit Card.I buy products for clients and have had to return a couple of items because there was a problem with them, the process was very easy and happened quickly. Trying to return this faulty Air Conditioner has been very trying.

Oh boy... this product... We loved it at first. Used it for about a week. And then we got a knock on the door from our downstairs neighbor. Apparently the unit is so loud it is rocking his walls and was really disturbing him. Checked it out and it's definitely rattling the walls, it's crazy. Especially since it's so quiet from our apartment. Would love to return but the product is so heavy and would be such a hassle that we've just gotten egg foam to muffle the vibrations.

I bought this unit, used it 5 times and couldn't get a 120 square foot room under 75°. I live in Northeast PA. It is currently 84° outside. I read the manual thoroughly and none of the solutions listed work. When I contacted the seller for a resolution they told me to drain the water. (Which mind you, is not a resolution) when I did, hours later the room is no cooler. I asked for a refund and they offered me $100 to keep the piece of crap!!!!

Within 1 month of purchasing this unit it had a noise issue witht he main fan. I contacted the seller and they said to turn it off and back on. This did not help. They did not follow up. I would not recommend the purchase of this unit.
