This a nice tool for multiple kitchen uses. It takes a bit to learn how to handle it. Keep in mind it takes a lot of space in a drawer since the clamp doesn't "close" so it stays wide and tall. Quality-wise there is certainly room for improvement since (at least the piece I received) was not well finished/treated at the edges and vertical sides, which creates concerns about rusting. The horizontal surfaces though had a nice mirror finish.

Solid design. Functional for its intended purpose. Easier to grab, turn/flip, manipulate food in the pan (especially where hot grease is in play). ONLY unexpected issue is that I failed to equate dimensionally the size of the spatula heads... so to put it in visual perspective for others, imagine the larger spatula being the size of a playing card, and the smaller being the size of a business card. That being said... its construction is still solid enough to flip a searing 22 oz porterhouse with ease.

This would be great for burger on a front page or small grill. But a big grill... Not so much. The handle is to short for a big grill thus your hand is getting cooked. So I returned it.Not because it's not well made, it is. It is just not suitable to my needs.

These are great. You never have to worry about the meat slipping out and falling because you can securely hold it in place. Plus I like using them for link sausages because it's so easy to collect a few of them on it and then hold them there while lift. I can never go back to the old spatulas again!

I bought this for the barbecue and it's great for flipping burgers or other pieces of meat. No more worries about the burger flipping off the spatula and ending up on the floor or broken in half on the barbecue it's a great product

This has upped my grilled cheese game to a new level. No more crooked bread with the cheese hanging out or getting on the pan and smoking. Just grip it and flip it.

not working as should

Purchased for the primary use of flipping grilled sandwiches in a pan but also for burgers on the outdoor grill. So plastic would not work. These are very functional and easy to clean. There is no lock feature so I’m not sure why that was in the questions.

These seem to be sturdy. They're certainly heavy enough, the spatula stays put when you set it down on it's flat side. The spring action is also quite stiff due to the thickness of the metal. This is not really a problem, and if you a problem with it springing back and tossing hot pan contents back in your face as another reviewer noted....well...just grab it properly and be aware of what you're doing?The downside is that since the upper "blade" is so much shorter than the bottom one, these can't be used as actual tongs. You've gotta get it under like a normal spatula and then you can clamp down and flip. The angle that the upper blade is set at is not ideal either. It only presses flat against the bottom when there's nothing in the way. If you're actually trying to grab something with them, you don't get the full surface area of the top in contact, so there isn't as much grip as you might like.The reality is that this tool is inferior to using both a set of normal tongs as well as a normal spatula. The only thing I've really found this useful for is removing bacon from a baking sheet since it gets the pieces off without breaking them, and without getting bacon grease everywhere.

My husband now uses these for EVERYTHING. Frying pan, the grill... pancakes, hamburgers, bacon... he loves these.

These were annoying. They need a clasp for storage. I returned them.
