The unit uses a 5 volt supply. The output pin changes from 5 volts to ground when the unit detects the obstacle.

Hello. There are several of this board, with LED mounted vertical, horizontal or facing them. If a special configuration is required, LED's (Transmitter = white and receiver = dark) can be carefully removed from the board and mounted on any other position, being sure to keep the LED polarity. LED pin signals can also extended using/soldering Arduino jumper cables.
