Lamy
No converter or cartridge provided. Lamy generic converter fits. Ink flow is good and smooth. The fine nib is per expected. It does not act as medium.

Great pen, but NO INK or converter comes with it
Great pen, like other Lamy pens. Just purchased 4 for gifts.FYI, the description says it comes with blue ink, however, it DOES NOT COME WITH INK or a converter.Be sure to order LAMY cartridges or a bottle of ink and converter.

Attractive price, seller warranty, seems ok
Attraction was price. $55 is a very good price. Came with a converter as well. But no Lamy warranty card. Sellers warranty for one year as written In sellers profile but non on the listing. Pen seems fine. No scratches or visible sign of use. Medium nib but writes little broader. It is an ok purchase. Good price but a bit of doubt about newness. Listings are getting trickier. Next time I will think twice.

Lamy is designspeak for Solid.
Of my Vanishing Points/Decimos, TWSBI's, and an E95, the Lamy Studio (stainless steel finish, extra fine nib) is my favorite.A quick note before the review continues: the seller matters. My initial purchase included a pen that was in a different products box, and wrapped in plastic labelled for a different pen. It didn't include a converter, the feed looked like it had been gnawed on by a chihuahua, and the nib looked like it had been roughened with sand paper. I returned it, and bought from Quality Supply Shop who had sealed the original package the pen should come in such that I knew it had not been tampered with. The package was indeed unopened and came with everything a new Lamy pen does (converter, cartridge, pamphlets UNDERNEATH the padded part that holds the pen). I would recommend them as a seller. Onward:The people who get this pen are the people who appreciate solid engineering design and a smooth, ridiculously consistent nib. There are "issues" that come up about this pen, rendering it what I think to be probably the most misunderstood pen among some circles on the internet. I'll address these issues here:1. The grip is slipperyMy take: The grip on the stainless steel version is wonderful and has the texture of solid rubber. It is one of the most comfortable sections I have ever held.2. The cap is "rattly" and "free to spin"My take: The cap, when posted or closing the pen, is as secure as any other cap, does not spin freely, and does not cause any issue whatsoever when writing. This comes with the benefit of not actually scraping the body of the pen (metal on metal) - a pretty cool design feature. I think those who complain about this may have received a damaged pen (something I experienced myself, but who knows).3. The nibMy take: Lamy has accomplished something that no other manufacturer has seemed to be able to pull off - produce a nib out of steel that is comparable to nibs on $150 dollar pens but performs consistently across all types of paper. This is not a nib for those seeking status, it is a nib for those who write, write often, and want to write without any fuss. It works as good if not better than any $200 grail pen that needs to have its diapers changed twice a day just to stay functional. I think for many who are into fountain pens the fact that the nib does not cost 80+ dollars on its own is somehow a negative - to bad for them. I can't get enough of just how well engineered their nibs are. This pen is weighted excellently. When posted, the pen becomes slightly back heavy - not in a bad way, but just enough to slightly unweight the nib when writing and causing it to glide smoother. It is just a pleasure to write with as is, and is absolutely going to be my new daily driver. I love it so much, I may even buy a gold nib (z56) just to let it know it's my #1.

The studio
When I learn to write in elementary school we used fountain pens and once I got the hang of it I really enjoy it. when I learn to write in elementary school we used fountain pens and once I got the hang of it I really enjoy it The practicality of caring around a bottle of ink in order to refill the pen is obvious. I later discovered the fact that they are now making ink refills that you could just slide it in the pan and off you go. It’s been a few years since I was in elementary school and a lot of things have changed to the general Penn market but I still like using a fountain pen when I can. I think a lot of people got turned off because of the ink that you might get on your fingers when you filled it up but when A Fountain pen is tuned to its prime there’s nothing better to write with it just slides across the page. The Lamy pen Company is based in Germany and they make some very good pans. For those just entering into the fountain pen experience you might want to try a safari pen by Lamy. But if you take it up a notch and get this Lamy studio pen you will notice a very smooth writing non-scratchy even on notebook paper pen. The way this pen feels compared to Safari is quite a lot better. This studio can run you anywhere from 79 may be down to $59 but the writing is far more superior. So if you have the extra bucks on hand and want to try a really great writing pen get this Lamy studio fountain pen. Make sure you pick up an ink converter to go inside your pen so you can load it from a standard ink bottle or just buy some Lamy in cartridges .

Not working after 5 months
I loved using it until it stopped totally. The price was above $70 when I purchased it. It is no wonder why the price sent down to $40 now. I have other fountain pens around $20-40 of prices but they are all better than this one. This pen was all about sadness and disappointing.

This is a great pen, living in the shadow of the 2000
I bought this pen in the stainless steel version so that the section was black and not chrome, given concerns often expressed about the very smooth bright metal section on other Studios. The extra fine nib supplied is more like a regular Lamy fine, such as on my Safari, although this one writes smoother and wetter, with less feedback. Using Noodler's Black Bulletproof ink, the pen is as smooth as my Pelikan M200 Fine or my TWSBI Diamond Mini Fine. I also bought it knowing that, unlike the 2000, it is easy and inexpensive to change to other nibs. There is no reason to buy a Studio with a gold nib. If you want gold, get a Lamy 2000. The Studio is a great value and I would buy it again in a heartbeat and it would make a great gift pen.

meh.
When posting pictures of the item, the seller has to make sure they send everything that is in the picture. I was appalled by the fact that it had no ink refills converter that is most definitely in the picture. Disappointing. The pen itself is severely light. I have just compared with my black lamy studio, without the converter for a fair comparison, and the one i just purchased is much much lighter. It is a pen. But from my experience with Lamy, it should never be just a pen.
