Great as a kitchen scale
I use a scale daily for sourdough starter maintenance and cooking. Before I got this scale I was using two different scales to get by. However, these scales had been flaky, sometimes never registering or holding measurements. In looking for replacements, I mostly found the same quality when looking through kitchen appliances. So, I took the plunge and got a laboratory scale instead. Let me tell you, this thing is super accurate and doesn't skip a beat. It measures up to 11 lbs (5kg) and has precision down to 10 milligrams. This means I can place a blener pitcher container on the scale and add ingredients without it overloading. You can switch between lots of different measurement standards without clearing the weight and when you plug it in, it stays on indefinitely so that you can walk around without worrying about it shutting off. I've had it a month now and it still looks nice and is accurate and responsive. I've had zero fuss with its functionality. My only complaints are concerning power delivery. The 9v battery compartment was difficult to open and looked like a tight fit. Fortunately, I'm plugging it in. Unfortunately, the power adapter that came with this scale was very low quality, despite the manufacturer's insistance that you use it. Realizing this, I checked it with a multimeter and got back appx 15vdc. It still works, as in, the scale accepts 15vdc without failure or altered measurements. I got a higher quality adapter that tested to exactly 9.00vdc and it's working great. Also, so you know, there are no serial numbers or other asset tags anywhere on the scale or in its software.

We use this for espresso
This is one of the few balances that can measure milligrams & take enough weight for a portafilter. Highly recommend for coffee shops. We just keep it plugged in all the time. It's and to tare and weigh pretty quickly.

Good scales, battery operate or plug into power!
These scales are really good for the price. Very pleased, they measure to 0.01 of a gram. They have a wall socket adapter for running on building electricity or you can put in a 9 vault battery (not included), the battery is a bit tight and the cover bulges a bit, but you can close it. Besides that one tiny thing, good scales!!! I would recommend them.

reasonable unit for it's cost savings
for the expense vs quality; the units are fair to good. dry weight seems fine, liquid weight seems to vary a little.

Made my life so much easier
Very accurate scale. Love the fact that it stays on the whole time when plugged into the mains. You can place a container, tare & weigh. If you have to step away you can just continue where you left off when you get back.I suggest buying a seperate calibration weight to make sure you always get the most accurate results.Unfortunately I didn't realise the power adaptor was for 110V and when I plugged it into the local power it burned out. Luckily I managed to find a 220V adaptor locally that fit into the scale.

NOT A PRECISION INSTRUMENT-DO NOT ORDER IT
LEFT IT ON FOR 2 DAYS TO TRY TO STOP IT FROM FLUCTUATING, DOES NOT STOP FLUCTUATING THE READING WITHOUT ANYTHING ON THE TRAY. EVEN AFTER I TARE IT, IT STILL FLUCTUATES 100 grams , INSTRUCTION MANUAL IS WORTHLESS, TRIED TO calebrate IT BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A 5 KILOGRAM WEIGHT JUST TO CALEBRATE IT. JUST OPENED THIS AFTER HAVING IT FOR A FEW MONTHS, TOTALLY WORTHLESS AND CANNOT RETURN ANY MORE, DO NOT BUY THIS

won't break
I've been using this for 3 years and it doesn't break. It can also weigh considerably less. If there is one drawback, it takes quite a while to get the weight right. This is not for researchers.
