very good start of a healthy plant
These spider plants are so pretty and grow so well. This is an excellent, healthy plant that is ready to put in a pot. It's beautiful and fuller than expected.

Lovely! 💖 Sort the reviews by date. 😉
FYI- There is a horrible review that pops up at the top of the ratings, and it’s a review from 2013! Be wary. That was not at all like my own experience... The plant arrived well-wrapped in plastic to keep the dirt in the little pot and the foliage was protected by packing peanuts. I received this plant with surprisingly little damage! I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never ordered live plants online previously, and late summer in Missouri is very hot, so I was a little worried. Now I’m glad I took the chance of ordering online. Make sure you watch the post box so you can re-pot ASAP; the small pots do dry out quickly and your plant will appreciate it.I promptly re-potted my new addition in good quality potting mix and snipped off a couple of wrinkled leaves (from shipping). The next day I spritzed with Epsom salt water to assist with any transplant shock and my new spider plant is now thriving and has abundant new leaves emerging! Healthy, green, disease-free, and cost effective. I recommend. 👍👍Update 9/25/21: My plant is vibrant, beautiful, and growing well! I included an update photo. :)Update 8/22/23: This plant might just be one of the best things I have ever gotten from Amazon. It is absolutely majestic. 💖

Plant arrived looking healthy... and quickly started dying.
---2012 November, 11---The first plant died, the shipper sent me a replacement... it was too wet and had already started rotting when I got it. The soil these spider plants are in is not at all appropriate, it holds way too much water. I saved this one by letting it dry out completely and then watering extremely scarcely. I've been watering it less than once a week, and only a trickle of water at the base of the plant, and it's finally stopped losing leaves to the rot, and is showing new growth. In short, this is the most temperamental spider plant I have ever owned. I didn't think there was such a thing!---2013, October, 8---Unfortunately I have to take back the 'healthy' claim. After the first week, most of the tips of the leaves were going yellow-brown and dying, which spider plants will do if they are stressed. I figured it was probably from the shipping, no big deal. Then the bottom leaves started dying, going completely brown and dead, from the base out. Not good. I finally got a chance to pull it out of its pot today, washed all the dirt off... about 1/3 of the roots were rotted away completely, another 1/3 had started to rot from the tip. I removed all the rotting matter I could I'm going to try and salvage this poor thing.I use spider plants as my go to plant to give people who don't normally grow indoor plants(or plants at all) because they're so easy to take care of and impossible to kill. I wasn't expecting having trouble with this plant!----My plant is just about the same size as the one pictured, lovely variegated leaves, and arrived intact and healthy. I'll be moving it to a larger pot as soon as it has a chance to rest from being stuffed into a box with no light for several days, as it could use the room already to grow!

Not dead but not super lively when arrived, but doing well in Philadelphia's weather
******* initial review on July 3 *******I just got a pot of spider plant. As you can see in the picture, the plant came in soil, and a disposable soft pot. I saw some complained that the plant came dead. That was not the case with me, but the plant is not definitely super-lively. I planted into good soil and a larger pot. Let's see how the plant survives. The plant is sort of baby, not definitely big. It's something that you could get from a runner and put into soil for a couple of weeks. Not surprisingly, the delivered plant did not have any runner (or baby spiders). Hope runners and babies come out.******** update on July 26 *******After about three weeks, the plant is doing well! See the picture. One is upon arrival, and the other is three weeks later, in a small pot, good soil, and plenty of water. Even inside near the window facing North (I read somewhere direct sun is not ideal for this), the smallish pot is no longer enough and I purchased a bigger pot. No runner (and babies) yet.

It was squashed in the little pot. Some of the leaves are dead in just one week.
I bought the spider plant for my own personal use. I have numerous plants in the house. Hopefully, this one will turn out better as soon as I transplant into a bigger pot. I think there are too many stems stuffed into this one little pot. It already has brown shoots after just one week in the house.

THE BEST PLANTS EVER!
I ordered 2 of these as I thought they would be very small for the price ($3.50). Boy, was I surprised..!! They both arrived within TWO DAYS! andwere really quite large, came moist and were packaged EXTREMELY WELL. Spider plant have very long slender leaves. None of the were twisted, broken or bent. They were very, very healthy with no brown tips, holes or ANYTHING. The color was healthy and vibrant. They were much fuller than the picture. This is my second order. Even with the small shipping amount, they are bigger, less expensive and much healthier than the stores around here; WM- HD- Menards, nurseries....I will be getting all of my plants from Hirts. The pots are very small, but the plants don't seem to be potbound. After they arrive, I unpack them, keep them moist and give them a few weeks to fill out and acclimate to their new environment before I take them out of the temporary pots and repot. I can see growth already..!

Poorly packaged damaged product
Plants were alive when received but the ends were folded over when packed which damaged the plant. Looks like half of the spider plant was eaten by bugs. Poor quality and poor shipping care of product. Should have used a longer box.

Not a repeat buyer
Barely alive when received. Will only buy seeds from this seller unless I find them somewhere else.
