Does what it says
Really pleased with this- it is silent when running, does not generate huge amounts of heat and simply works. The pass through for protecting your ethernet devices is really reassuring too. We have had a series of power outages and the equipment behind this UPS stayed up and running perfectly. Will be buying another to protect equipment elsewhere on the home network.

Heavy duty
A UPS is not required for a PC, but I considered it essential because I desired to protect my relatively expensive computer from the rare danger of lightning-powered electrical surge. The UT1050EI is a chonky boy, I think about as heavy as my entire computer tower, despite being a quarter the size.Nevertheless, it seems to be doing the job just fine, routing power to the tower without issue. Well, it took me a while to figure out how to turn the UPS on (hold the finicky power button for TWO seconds), but all good.Update: It seems that this UPS, unlike most others, continues to hum beyond the first couple of days of charging the internal battery. This low, quiet hum is enough to draw my attention when I try to sleep across the other side of my (rather small) room from it, but it is not enough to keep me awake. If you are particularly sensitive to such a thing, then I recommend to keep this UPS more than two metres away from your bed, or otherwise reduce the sound. If this product fails earlier than seems -by my personal approximation- reasonable, then I will update this review.

Good UPS
Good UPS, does not buzz unlike my other UPS. It has kept my 3D printer running during several power cuts and dips.

On the first test - it's let me down
I set this up a few days ago to provide power to my Synology Diskstation in case of power failure. I decided to run a test today to see how long this would keep my NAS running in the event of a power failure. Big, almost catastrophic mistake! The UPS keep my NAS running for about 94 minutes and I was standing by it ready to restore mains power when the battery was getting low. Unfortunately, there was no visual indication (or if the was, I didn't see it), just a loud beep. So, I thought, that must be the low-battery warning, but before I could even reach for the power switch, the unit shut down. The result was that over 950GB of data on an encrypted share on my NAS could no longer be accessed because the encryption key to unlock the share would no longer work (presumably something got corrupted when the power went off suddenly). Unfortunately, the Synology backup package that I was relying on to back up my data to a WD external hard drive would also not restore my data. So, if I didn't have an alternative backup plan, then I would have lost years of work in a flash. It's just fortunate that I have an off-site backup subscription with iDrive and was able to restore my lost data, but it took several days to do so and wasn't entirely straightforward. So to sum up, the device that I thought was going to protect me actually lulled me into a false sense of security and then caused me to end up in the very position I didn't want to be in. Thank goodness for the "lifeline " from iDrive. One final point - I don't like the fact that this unit is always emitting heat, so it must be consuming a significant amount of power. I'm going to replace it with a smaller Cyberpower UPS once they are back in stock as I know they stay cold (I currently have one supplying power to my router) and have status lights on the front. Unfortunately, I can't send the current UPS back as I had to cut off the moulded 13-Amp plug to feed the cable through a hole, so I'll have to bear the financial loss.

Basic, but it works.
I use this to protect my NAS, Mac and other connected equipment from power trips. So far it has proved its worth. No USB support to automatically shut down connected equipment, which would be good, but equipment with this feature costs more. As it is we are normally in attendance.

An effective UPS
It supports my desktop PC and screen effectively and provides power for both for at least 20 minutes as discovered a couple of days after installing.

has been working great for nearly 2 years
i bought this product for my 500 watt pc and i needed this as i have got very consistent power outages this have preformed so well and done its job as intended it gave me about 10 to 15 mins before it shuts down and that's plenty of enough time to stop what your doing it has saved me so much money on hat i could of potentially lost if i di not get this i recommend this
