The answers are wrong. It is confusing. I don’t recommend it! Printed wrong, wrong answers, as I said and not following the actual oet format!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this book. I am a native speaker and qualified teacher, and have worked through the first two tests. There are multiple errors in the questions which suggest it has been written by someone who does not have an advanced understanding of some of the vocabulary used in the texts. For example, one text states: 'Detector dogs are useful for locating bed bugs because they use olfaction (smell) RATHER THAN than vision.' The question is: 'To locate bed bugs, detector dogs use olfactory senses DESPITE their______(answer = vision). 'Despite' means regardless of, whereas 'rather than' means instead of, they're not interchangeable, and I found many other examples of this misuse of English words. Another example: the text states: 'In India, iron deficiency in infants has been associated with severe infestations' (meaning iron deficiency in babies was a RESULT of the infestations). Yet the question asks 'What CAUSED serious infestations of bed bugs in newborns?' It's not the same thing and is incorrect. It made me think that Google Translate or Google Dictionary had been used to change some words without realising they were incorrect. A quick internet search found many of the texts in old news bulletins or published abstracts from medical journals, but the questions that have been written do not always make sense. There were some questions I could not work out the correct answer because the question was badly written.

It is an old version. Only good for reading the texts, but the questions are not even close what you will get in the exam.I do not know why they say it is updated one,IT IS NOT

Some answers are wrong, some are missing. This book need corrections. I didn't bought it, but read it with kindle.
