I found it to be a very useful reference book. First of all they give you the background on the different sabbats. You are given the old ways and new ways of celebrating which I found interesting and enlightening. My favorite chapters were the Spells and Divinations, Recipes and Crafts. Both chapters gave me a lot to work on and do. I also found the Prayers and Invocation chapter useful. Newbies need help in figuring out what to say or at least I do. There was also a list of rituals, of other helpful books and interesting facts about the sabbat. I have found that the Llewellyn books are very useful and plan on getting the rest of the books in this series. Review: Get Them All! - This is a fantastic set of books. In one volume, you get history, rituals, spells, recipes, and more! This is essentially an almanac with a history of the celebration of each of the sabbats. I love perusing them for ideas of herbs, flowers, or customs that are seasonal for my area. I've been trying to live more in tune with nature because I found that as I get older, my body is not liking so many of the chemically-infused trappings of modern life in a big city. I'm becoming allergic to more and more synthetic things (maybe always was but my physical health was better in my youth?) and books like the sabbats are an easy way to incorporate natural things into your life. You don't have to be into Wicca to enjoy these at all. I love how the book splits things up for you. If you are new to the path I recommend buying all these wonderful books about the wheel of the year celebrations. It will give you a great starting point on your journey. It tells you the history of the day. Different recipes to make and for children arts and crafts.
